Small Town NJ: Collingswood
New Jersey may be relatively small compared to other states but from north Jersey to south it sure packs a punch. Most of the small towns I've posted have been in what's known as "Central Jersey" so it's time to head a little farther south for this one. Collingswood is a small town about ten minutes outside of Philadelphia. I'd heard so many great things about this tiny Philly suburb from the Pop Shop to their farmer's market that I couldn't resist poking around on a cloudy Saturday afternoon.
Collingswood has the perfect downtown for walking around, shopping, and grabbing a meal. There are plenty of restaurants too and Nick and I are planning a return trip to check them out. It's also close enough to Philly that you can do a little shopping then head into the city for dinner (that's what we did!). South Jersey is often seen as home to cornfields and highways that lead to Atlantic City but it's home to some really great small towns to be explored. I'll be back soon, Collingswood!
