Life is moving at the speed of light right now. Five days left of the school year. Thirty one days until we say I do. While my weeks are drowning in piles of last minute crafting and a million little tasks, the weekends have stepped it up. I'm not sure what would happen if I didn't have these weekends. Maybe laying on my bed in a permanent coma? Either way, thank goodness for the weekend.
The weather couldn't be any more gorgeous for exploring the New Jersey/Philadelphia area. Don't be tricked by the gorgeousness though and forget to reapply that sunscreen. You might end up with some patchy tan lines like someone I know. I just cannot resist an outdoor dining area and there are so many new and old ones to explore like American Sardine Bar (those lawn chairs are darn comfy) and La Peg at Fringe Arts. Delicious drinks in the shadow of the Ben Franklin bridge? That does a city lover's heart good. I also discovered the best thing to happen to the Jersey Shore since Bruce Springsteen: Beach Haus Brewery opened their tasting room and brewery in Belmar. I will have a much longer post proclaiming my love soon! You know I thrive on exploring and, despite all the things I have on my plate, I've got to get out and get moving.
Speaking of weekend adventures, the past two have been occupied with my bridal shower and then bachelorette party. These weekends were spent doing some unexpected things in familiar places and just re-affirmed that I have the best set of girl friends a girl could ever have (if you follow me on instagram, you got a taste of my sappiness). My bridal shower took place on a river boat cruise down the Delaware River in the beautiful Bucks County, Pa. My mom always has the best ideas and the dessert shower was stunning.
My bachelorette took place in my other favorite city: New York. My beautiful 'maids treated me to the best of the best with a stay in Tribeca, the royal treatment at drybar, and even located a cupcake and wine bar, two of my favorite things in one place! Though we definitely partied it up, what I loved the most about the weekend was spending time with these women I've known more than half my life. Reminiscing and laughing were exactly what I wanted for my "last weekend" as a single lady.
I hate to wish the weeks away but who doesn't love the weekend?
