Making White Shorts Elegant for Brunch and Beyond
top and necklace: jcrew (top last seen here), shorts: old navy, heels: f21
I'll be honest, I'm not much of a cleaner. I'm more of an organizer. I can't bear to throw things away because you never know when you're going to need it. Instead I buy boxes and bins and baskets to store it away and make it look "pretty". Lately though I find myself collecting big bags of trash and boxes of home stuff to go to Goodwill. This sudden change is probably the result of an influx of new things from the wedding and I'm finally ready to minimize all the clutter that's accumulated after nearly three years in our apartment. One area of our home I'm slowly tackling is my side of our walk-in closet. My love of shopping and my love of quirky clothes means that if I don't do something soon the walk-in closet will belong only to me. Why I want to say sorry husband, I'm trying to be a good new wife. That means scaling back and remixing what I already have. This peter pan collared blouse from J.Crew reminds me of my Catholic schoolgirl days but I love the dressy casual feel when you pair it with some sparkle and heels. Can you say Sunday brunch?
I'm feeling a variation of this heels-and-shorts combo for this evening's celebration of my best friend's birthday. I'm kind of getting sad that my short wearing days are numbered as the countdown to September and back to school (my back to work) begins. So I'll be wearing plenty of shorts and maybe a romper or two because the summer is not over yet!
