Doing Something Different For The New Year with #MyHCLook
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hair Cuttery Salons. All opinions are 100% my own.
If you've been reading my blog for a little while here, you've probably noticed how I am all about looking stylish while still feeling comfortable. I am not going to lie to you and say that I like suffering for fashion! However, there is one exception: New Year's Eve. There are only a few days in the year that require you to get glam and NYE is one of them. This year, this casual girl decided to try something a little different with my New Year's outfit.
My typical outfit is my little black dress, black tights, black heels and then I call it a night. How boring! New Year's is not a time to be a wallflower so I went in search of some color. So I dug through some of my mom's old dresses and discovered the most adorable plum silk shift dress. Paired with fun patterned black tights (like I said, SOME color), this is the kind of outfit New Year's Eve dreams are made of.
Notice something else I'm doing differently? I am the laziest girl when it comes to doing my hair and I hate booking an appointment at a salon. Plus I'm always worried that they'll style me with the typical "prom" look. So when Hair Cuttery reached out to me to try their styling services, I jumped at the chance to get my hair done by a professional and get over my hair "fears" once and for all.
Getting my hair styled at Hair Cuttery was such an effortless experience. Despite many failed attempts at Pinterest and Youtube tutorials, I could just never justify the price of a salon. I'm also terrible at booking appointments, always waiting until the last minute and then sometimes it's just too late. Hair Cuttery solves all my biggest hair anxieties. The prices are so affordable and you can practically walk in and sit down in a styling chair (though I recommend making an appointment for busy days like Saturday!). With locations around the country, it makes this girl on the go so, so happy to know that I will not be sifting through yelp reviews to find a hair stylist.
Ready for the big reveal? Here's my typical look:
And here's #MyHCLook!
How gorgeous is this hair style?!? My stylist Kelsey was a gem; she talked this clueless girl through my ideas and helped me settle on this ultra chic twisted bun. She made me feel comfortable and this is definitely not the "prom" hair I was worried about! I cannot wait to visit Kelsey and the Hair Cuttery team again to feel glamorous and chic for more fun looks this holiday season and in 2016.
