Wearing: Sparkle and Stripe
From fourth grade until I graduated from high school I went to an all-girls school. For five of those nine years of no boys and high pressure academics, I wore a uniform. It wasn't so bad except we weren't allowed to have our skirts hemmed. Those brand new skirts hung almost to our knees until you washed them a few times and it shrunk.
I thought I would never want to go back to having a uniform. But these cold winter mornings, I'm dying for someone to just tell me what to wear so I can stay in bed for as long as possible. If I did have to wear a uniform though, I'd wear a little sparkle and stripe. Sparkles via a statement necklace or a jeweled top like this are the perfect hint for the winter. And stripes, stripes are pretty much my unofficial uniform. I recently shopped the J.Crew after holiday sale and the only thing in my cart were striped tops. Sparkle and stripe is definitely the way to my heart.
Something else I'm trying to incorporate into my everyday is heels. I know, totally the wrong season for this. However there's something about the way heels look with flare jeans and I'm all about that jean style right now. You simply cannot go wrong with any pair of gray heels. Just try J.Crew or Banana Republic and you'll be all set. I'm praying this warmer winter sticks around so I don't have to bundle up in my snow boots and skinny jeans. Though that might be the perfect excuse to buy those Sorel boots I've had my eye on for over a year.
