Could we bring back skirt weather please? I don't think I've worn anything but black pants to work for the past two weeks. This black and grey work outfit is probably the thing I miss most. It has everything I love: polka dots, stripes, black, white, grey, and my most comfortable booties. The other thing that I love is its not a boring work outfit. When you get up at 5:30 and have to be out the door around 7, your enthusiasm for getting dressed is pretty low. At least mine is. So on the weekdays I tend to grab pants and nice sweater and whatever else can keep me warm. Finding an easy outfit like this one that actually looks like I tried is just too perfect. It makes these long winter work days just a bit easier to bear.

For my friends out there who are nervous about an outfit like this that mixes bold patterns: keep it simple! I am still pretty hesitant to mix floral patterns with stripes or polka dots. I am not a "busy" pattern person! That's why I always stick to simple patterns and to the same color family. It's also a good idea to have one bold or larger pattern rather than two bold patterns that compete with each other. My best advice though is to try. Clothes are supposed to be fun so play it up!
