Wearing: Neutral in a Colorful World
Lately there's been a subtle shift in my wardrobe. While my closet used to be full of crazy bold patterns and prints, neutrals and shades of grey, black, and white are starting to take over. While I love color, subtle hues are so much easier to mix and match. Plus I've been seeking out more color out in the world, like these amazing murals in Asbury Park.
While I'm not a fan of the "leggings as pants" trend, leggings can be the perfect solution for my work day dilemma. To make them work "appropriate" (depending on your work environment, of course) is layering them up. Layering them under long dresses, tunics, or oversized cardigans takes them up a notch and keeps you from looking sloppy. Plus heels help quite a bit. This is an outfit I've worn to work countless times, though I can't lie and say that the heels last all day. Since they moved my room upstairs, I'm all about the flats!
