But First: Square One Coffee

Square One Coffee is the kind of hidden gem that you're lucky to discover and never want to let go. I may be a little dramatic but my love for Square One is strong. This is my first Philadelphia coffee shop in this month's But First coffee shop series and you'll soon figure out why. But First: Square One Coffee

I didn't find Square One on my own; it is the meeting place for most PHLBloggers monthly meet-ups. This particular location is in a small, unassuming storefront on South 13th Street (the other Philly location is on JFK Boulevard and there's one more location in Lancaster) with frosted glass windows that let in dreamy light on weekend mornings. The coffee shop generously closes on a weekday evening so us bloggers can order up a specialty beverage and nibble on a tasty treat in private. Oh and we chat too!

It's got all the elements that a blogger is sure to love: twinkle lights draped across the ceiling, a long wooden table with plenty of seats, clean white walls and subway tile, and one corner complete with cozy chairs and a comfy couch. But even if you're not a blogger, you're going to love the cozy atmosphere and of course the most delicious coffee.

But First: Square One Coffee

I'd like to remind you briefly that I am not a big coffee drinker but Square One is the spot that turned me on to coffee. Yup, they're the ones that converted me. What makes their coffee so good? Maybe if I was a coffee expert, I'd know. All I know is that they are a small, family-owned micro-roaster based in Lancaster, PA that believes in supporting small business and the people involved in producing their small batch coffee. Which is pretty awesome mission for any company. Couple that up with some pretty delicious brews and you've got the perfect coffee shop.

So you're not a coffee drinker? If you don't want your coffee brewed straight up (though I'm urging you to give it a try!), their vanilla latte is what dreams are made of. Oh, and they'll do that instagram perfect latte art. Though I haven't tried it, a PHLBlogger favorite is the London Fog. Their cold brew is definitely a winner too and they'll bottle it up for you to take home.
