Wearing: Back to Basics in a Jean Jacket and a Dress

Sometimes you just have to go back to basics when you're getting dressed. When I was in fifth grade, I had two signature outfits: patterned leggings and a big turtleneck or a jean jacket and a dress. Who knew my fifth grade self was ahead of the times? While I'm not sure if big turtlenecks are really my thing, I am all about that dress and jean jacket combo. dress: old navy (similar), jean jacket: thrifted (similar), heels: moda (similar), necklace: charming charlie (similar), sunglasses: warby parker

The only difference between now and fifth grade? The accessories are a little more sophisticated. Instead of white sneakers, you have to go with the classic grey heels. And though I love a good BFF heart necklace, a statement necklace in the perfect mint says mature more than middle school. The most perfect thing about this whole outfit is that it is literally two pieces and you'll look put together and ready. More time to talk about your latest crush over the landline, right?

In addition to being a proud jean jacket advocate, I'm planning some adventures this weekend (follow along on snapchat: kendallblossoms). Don't you just love an open weekend ready to be filled up with something new? That's what I love the most about spring time: everything is opening up, starting new, coming out of hibernation. I'm feeling that way myself so stay tuned to see what I'm up to.
