Wearing: Sunrise Colors and Springtime Vibes
With the change of time a few weeks ago, waking up was hard. It was pitch black and cold and there was a slow stumble to the kitchen to get my tea brewing. I love the early evening time, when the sun is setting and it's time for a glass of wine. Waking up before the sun rises is really hard for me to do. However in the last few weeks I've noticed that the sun is coming up earlier and earlier. When I'm getting in ready, blowdrying my hair and getting my face set to meet the day, I'll catch a glimpse of the sunrise over the tops of the apartment buildings. And even though I am not a morning person, there's something inspiring about those sunrise colors. That was the whole vibe I wanted to incorporate into this comfortable springtime outfit.
The sunrise colors of peach and pale pink in this tunic made it a must buy when I found it buried in the sale section at Anthropologie. Does anyone else love/hate scouring their sale section? There are always so many great finds but you can't take everything home! A few things that are worth taking home from Anthro's sale section have to be this canary yellow peasant dress, or these Paige denim high-rise flares, or this ivory ruffled tank that I'm dying to wear from spring to summer.
The other thing that makes this one of my favorite new spring outfits is the relaxed fit of everything. Think you can't pair a tunic with relaxed boyfriend jeans? With the right pieces, it's what you're going to want to wear in the spring. Boyfriend jeans are your new best friend when it comes to spring style.
The last thing you need to compliment sunrise colors and that springtime vibe you've got going on are a pair of espadrilles and a fun tote. These espadrilles were a gift from my mom years ago and they are still the perfect spring shoe. If you can't make the whole lace-up flats trend work for you, the ribbon ties of an espadrille are a whole lot softer and even more feminine. And this floral tote bag (find out how to make your very own right here) matches the whole thing perfectly. Kind of like the sunrise and sunset.
