Wearing: Slouching Towards the Weekend

How come four day weeks feel longer than a regular five day week? It's as if the universe says, you relaxed too much, now you're going to get it. This week was jam packed with meetings and deadlines plus those spring allergies are definitely rearing their head. And if you thought that students at the end of the year would be used to the routine and expectations, you thought wrong. You are so wrong and I should know this after four years of teaching. I've "threatened" several times that they won't be going on to the next grade level. But who am I kidding? At this point, when I'm reminding them to keep their hands to themselves and yes, put your name on your paper for the billionth time, I'd pay next year's teachers to take them three months early. Only a few more hours and you'll find me slouching towards the weekend. Hopefully I'll make it in one piece. Wearing: Slouching Towards the Weekend

When it comes to my weekday wear, I'm all about tucked and proportioned. When it comes to the weekend, the look gets a little loose around the edges. A little slouch goes a long way in comfort and comfort is king on the weekends. What most people don't realize is that a looser look can still look put together.

There are two big factors that will keep a relaxed look still looking chic: fit and focus. For fit, you don't want to go too big. You don't want to have the "little kid in big clothing" syndrome. This might mean that you need to size down to feel comfortable and look good. Go off of how it looks instead of the number on the label. The other styling factor has to be the focus. You do not want to look like a big blob of clothing. Decide where you want your focus to be. The easiest and most flattering would be your waist. So tuck it in, or do my new favorite the half-tuck, and give your outfit a focus.

Dipping a toe into the slouching lifestyle? Go with the boyfriend jeans at first. These Target jeans are so comfortable and their slim look is a half step away from skinny jeans. Seriously, I live in them. Plus, how cute are they with Chucks?

Now I have to know: are you relaxed or are you slim and tucked?
