Wearing: Living in Leggings (with tips and tricks for wearing your Lularoe!)

It's finally truly feeling like fall around here. After last weekend's soggy performance, I'm looking forward to finally enjoying a crisp and sunny fall weekend. My weekend plans involve rushing around from one fall event to another. We're booked Saturday morning for a pancake breakfast fundraiser all the way to a Sunday afternoon get-together with some old girlfriends. Even though it will be fun, a lot of time will be spent in the car. My weekend look needs to be stylish and comfortable. That's why I'm pulling out leggings and a tunic. But this is not just any tunic and leggings: this is LuLaRoe. Wearing: Living in Leggings for Fall, along with some tips for wearing the latest craze: Lularoe

If you haven't heard of Lularoe, I won't hold it against you. I didn't know anything about this modest, comfortable, and colorful clothing brand until a few months ago. Here's my quick history of LuLaRoe: founded by a stay-at-home mom who wanted a way to contribute to the household income, she started selling handmade maxis out of her trunk. Now a few years later her small business is transformed into a direct sales business so other women can work from home as well. The clothing line specializes in comfortable but modest clothing and are best known for their extra soft, full coverage leggings in fun patterns. The line has expanded from maxi skirts, tunics, and leggings to a-line skirts, maxi dresses, and kimonos. Everything is soft and comfortable with fun, eye-catching patterns and sold by a woman (or sometimes a man) as their own small business.

The thing that's amazing but also difficult about LuLaRoe is that the styles are conservative and the patterns are bold. You're more covered up than body-conscious which can sometimes be difficult. Long and cozy tunics and modest knee-length skirts can look baggy and frumpy without the right styling. The tunic I'm wearing above is an Irma, a long, high-low hemlined tunic. This pairs best with LuLaRoe's iconic leggings. Style it again by tucking it into a maxi skirt or a knee-length skirt like the Madison or Azure styles. The leggings are also fun to use as tights under your favorite dresses. My go-to fall and winter outfit is a pair of printed leggings layered under a skirt with knee-high boots.

Not sure if you can pull off the bright busy patterns? While I'm right here cheering you on if you want to go bold. But if you're worried about clashing or standing out, start where you're comfortable. My first investments in LuLaRoe are simple patterns, florals and polka dots. They pair with everything I already own but are crazy fun. There are plenty of beautiful and daring prints to try with LuLaRoe; choose one and go for it!
