Wearing: Jackets and Sweaters and Colder Weather

Did October even happen? It seemed to pass in a whirlwind of Hocus Pocus facebook posts and complaints of unseasonably warm weather. Even Halloween went by uneventfully, though I did squeeze in some October traditions. There were many October nights spent on the couch watching scary movies. Most were so bad they were good. For Halloween my mom came over and we snacked on pizza, sipped wine, and watched Practical Magic. Is there anything better than young Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman? Possibly Stockard Channing's oversized hat. Anyone know where I can get one? My hope for November is that we get some seasonable weather. Before long it'll be freezing in New Jersey; right now I'd just like it to be in the sixties, thank you. Just a tad bit cooler so I can pull on jackets, sweaters, and enjoy some colder weather.

Though the weather is getting colder, it's still not quite full-on sweater weather. That's why I was so happy to scoop up this plaid shirt from Target and it was on sale because Target is amazing like that. It's the perfect layering piece under jackets and sweaters. While I was busy going mad for plaid, I spotted these jeans and had to have them. I was searching high and low for a pair of jeans with a raw hemline. You can't beat how casual and chic they look with a pair of flats. Though I'm all about jackets and sweaters weather, it's nice to be able to wear them with a pair of flats.

This weekend my jacket, sweater, plaid combo will be on full display. We're travelling up to upstate New York to visit my grandmother. It's always much colder (she warned me that it's been close to 30 degrees in the morning!) and it gives me the chance to break out my favorite cozy clothes a little ahead of time. Heading up to New York state also gives me the chance to peep a little bit of that fall foliage, as long as it's still around. Get ready for the instagram fall colors overload!
