Wearing: Ski Weekend Lodge Lounging
As I get older I realize there are many things I like to do in theory. Like being social on a weeknight. Or having a weekly house cleaning schedule. Mostly I want to do things because they seem like things I want to do. Am I sharing too much and making you bored? Yes, probably. All of this is to say that I'm discovering it's good to try things and sometimes like them. It's also a good way to find that sometimes I really don't like doing things. One of those things is skiing. Being cold and then sweaty cold is not my thing. But where there is skiing, there is a lodge. Where there is a lodge, there is the opportunity to wear a cute lodge lounging outfit.
Honestly, probably 80% of the things I do on a daily basis are because I can wear a cute outfit. You probably already figured this out if you've been reading my blog for awhile. So I took the opportunity to pretend I'm après-ski in this cozy ski lodge lounging outfit. Also, any time that I get to wear these leather leggings, I'm going to jump on it. Last time I wore them it was for a laid-back winter celebration. They work for all different events, from hanging at home to a night on the town, and are so comfortable. If you're not ready to invest in a pair of leather leggings, casual cotton ones are my go-to back-ups.
Now the real star of my lodge lounging outfit are these faux fur-lined booties. Unfortunately, they're sooo old; I scooped them up on super sale from Gap a few years ago. But I did link to a neutral, equally amazing pair from Liz Claiborne. Winter hasn't cooperated this year with more spring-like days than ski weekends so they've mostly stayed in my closet. Not this weekend though! I also couldn't resist mimicking their blue and white color scheme with my trusty chambray tunic and white waffle sweater.
To be honest, this weekend I am not doing anything that has cute outfit potential or that I like doing, in theory or in reality. Though it's going to feel more like winter than spring on Saturday and Sunday, we're doing a bit of spring cleaning and tackling some house projects. That means grungy old clothes and big rubber gloves. Sometimes there are just no cute outfits when you're a homeowner.
