All of the Ruffle, None of the Fluff
Yesterday, as of 4:00pm, I am free. And by free I mean, it is officially spring break. There are plenty of benefits to being a teacher but I would have to say that spring break is one of the best. I'm not even going on vacation and I'm still so excited. The other great thing about this coming week is that it is finally going to start feeling like spring. There is a promise of sunshine people! One of the projects I'm tackling next week, besides watching an obscene amount of Netflix, is cleaning out my closet. Before every new season I like to evaluate what's hanging on my hangers. Some things stay, some things go, and some things get put away for another time. What's definitely going to making an appearance in my spring closet? Every single ruffle you could imagine, starting with this amazing top.
Ladies, ruffles are having a moment. Everywhere you turn there are ruffles: on tops, on dresses, on sleeves. I am not mad about it. They are the perfect thing for breezy spring days and flirty summer afternoons. Rhinestones and glitter are not my thing but I'll take a big ruffle any day of the week. I'm also so in love with this pattern; it reminds me of an Easter egg or a hip 1960's lounge. You know, either or. This ruffle top is pretty versatile, too. I decided to keep it simple with plain black pants and my favorite strappy flats to make the top pop. Next outfit idea for this ruffle: a bright, bold midi skirt and my favorite high heels.
With spring break finally here, I feel like there's finally a moment to breathe. I love being a teacher but, geez, it can be real hard to think about much else. Now it's time to start get going on all those things that I've been putting off. Also, I find a bit more motivation when the sun is shining and the breeze is fresh. So I may not be going on a vacation but things are definitely getting done around here. Happy spring break, everyone!
