Keeping It Simple and Chic in All Black For Your Holiday Parties

Happy Friday ladies! And happy December first! The weekend is here and the new month is here and I am ready for it ALL. Over the last month I was so sneaky during Target runs, stashing little Christmas things into the cart. I also somehow convinced Nick that tomorrow is the perfect day to visit Terrain. So many people are snapping pictures of the beautiful garden store dolled up for the holidays and I couldn't resist. Yes, I'm fully expecting it to be packed but I still can't resist evergreen, glitter, and fairy lights.

Speaking of that holiday spirit, it's time to launch into all the holiday looks I'm embracing this year. If you've been following along with me for awhile you know a few things: I love all things quirky, remixing and reusing is my jam, and I'm the most low key when getting ready. So, even though I love being as fancy as the next girl, I'm just too lazy and resourceful to go all out. But that doesn't mean my holiday looks have to be anything less than chic.

There's nothing easier and more timeless than an all black look. I'm working on adding more color to my wardrobe but I don't think I'll ever get over the ease of black on black.

This black sweater tunic got scooped up from Target a year or so ago and I get sooo much use out of it. Over skinny jeans, tucked into skirts, over easy leggings, I literally wear it all winter. I'm going to link to a few similar options below!

Besides basically living in this black sweater tunic, another essential for the holiday season/cold weather months are faux leather leggings. They are a game changer when it comes to putting together more sophisticated looks. Faux leather leggings look like you're trying when really you're basically wearing pajamas. They are that comfortable. If faux leather leggings aren't your thing, may I suggest a velvet pair? Velvet leggings are on my list and I'm loving this pair.
