All You Need For Christmas is an Oversized Sweater
When you work with kids there are a few things guaranteed to rile them up this time of year: grocery store cupcakes, knowing Santa is coming, and the smallest possibility of snow. Somehow a whisper spread around that there was the smallest possibility of snow yesterday and OH BOY, was it was a long Friday.
The craziness of this time of year makes it feel a lot more rushed. Some days I'm hoping it will be Christmas, if only to be able to finally take a breath. Ugh, but I don't want this season to be over just yet! So I took matters into my own hands this week and started scheduling Christmas activities like crazy.
I convinced Nick that last weekend was the perfect weekend to visit Terrain out in Glen Mills, PA. Now, Terrain is not a "holiday" activity (though I included it on my list of 30 holiday things to do in NJ and PA); it's the garden division of URBN, the company that runs Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Free People. It is basically one of the dreamiest spots ever, all seasons, but at Christmas it really shines. Terrain is mostly outdoors so it was the perfect excuse to break out this oatmeal oversized sweater from H&M.
Is it weird to be obsessed with a sweater? Because since wearing it to Terrain, I have worn it pretty much all week. It's the perfect thing to throw on after work, to run errands in, and I'm even working it into my weekend party rotation. The best part about it is that it's a bit cropped so it looks great with my high-waisted button up jeans. Any excuse to wear my favorite jeans is a win!
There are so many good chunky, oversized sweaters for sale right now. That oversized fit is perfect with skinny pants from leggings to trousers and works on weekends or at the office. To keep a sweater from looking too bulky, you can always belt it or do the fashion blogger's BFF: the front tuck.
Now for this weekend I'm getting ready to do a little more decorating around the house. If you're following my Instagram story you probably noticed that I've only managed to get the lights on my tree. Then it's off to do a few more rounds of shopping.
