Making Me Happy Now: DIY Projects I Want to Try
Here we go, getting my monthly Making Me Happy post in under the wire! On this last day in February I'm about ready for the month to be on its way. It was short and weird and way too busy.
Despite being the weirdest short month there ever was, it also got me crazy inspired to start creating again. Looking back at my journals and my old planners (anyone else keep their planners from year to year?!?) February is always a really creative month for me. We're nearing the end of winter and I want to make ALL THE THINGS!
In honor of this crazy creative streak, I rounded up seven DIY projects that I want to try because making is what's making me happy now.
Spoiler alert: a lot of the DIY projects on my list are cute clothes. Because a girl can't have too many clothes, right? Hearts on anything is my favorite thing so I'm dying to DIY this heart patch sweatshirt from Oh Happy Day.
I'm going to argue that the best projects involve fake flowers. It's also just as much as fun to make the flower. This fun DIY floral picnic basket from A Beautiful Mess is the perfect project to tackle right before spring.
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed that I drink a lot of coffee. So yea, I kind of need to make this 3D graphic clay mug from my favorite Studio DIY. I'm definitely feeling the rainbows but maybe little flowers?
One of the best things to DIY is your outfit accessories. They're small, easy to make, and it's hard to make mistakes. I stumbled upon this pom pom earring tutorial from Lovely Indeed and I'm all over it.
I love having a house because I can fill it with projects (you know Nick is going to love that). One time I knit a blanket and it took me a loooong time but it's a favorite item in our living room. Now I want to add this rainbow pouf from The House That Lars Built. Time to practice my sewing skills!
Another day, another outfit DIY. Right now, I'm all about the pearl details so this pearl sweater DIY from Oh Joy was the perfect find. Supplies are simple, directions are easy, and the finished product looks awesome.
Again, another house project! Spring fever has officially hit so it's time be all about the plants. The biggest issue I have is where to put them and what to put them in. But of course, Rachel of The Crafted Life thinks everything including this pom pom covered planter that is just too cute. Time to go shopping for some plant babies!
