Our New Life As A Family of Three

Our New Life as a Family of Three - wear she blossoms

Hello there! It’s been awhile since I’ve done any blogging at all and there’s only one reason for that: SHE’S HERE! Violet Constance was born on February 2nd at 1:15am, weighing in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 20 and 1/4 inches long. Her birth is probably the best moment of my life and it’s still unbelievable to me that she’s here. I felt like I was pregnant for forever, even though she came just an hour past her due date!

The last two plus weeks have been an adjustment to my everyday. I don’t know when we’re going to wake up, when we’re (finally) going to go to sleep, how long we’ll sleep, or even if I’m going to get dressed for the day. Some days I have to remind myself that this newborn stage doesn’t last forever and I can make it through the exhaustion, soreness, and uncertainty. Most days I remind myself that it doesn’t last forever and her face is too sweet to not stare at all day long. I’m so grateful that Violet chose me to be her mom and I love getting to know her.

I’m debating sharing her birth story, though it’s actually quite boring and I don’t have any pictures. Do people still like reading birth stories? I will say that labor and delivery was not exactly what I expected and, in fact, was much better than I’d been told. So my pregnant, soon-to-be pregnant, or maybe-thinking-about-being-pregnant friends, don’t get too freaked out thinking about the birth process.

I’m trying to sneak in some blogging between her naps and, to be honest, my own naps. I’m trying to be slightly more active on Instagram so if you’re looking for updates and day-to-day life, pop over there. Since my time is limited, if there’s anything you love seeing on Wear She Blossoms, let me know!

Welcome to the world, Violet!
